Philosophy & Religion

Oh, the love of wisdom! Oh, the love of truth! From ancient times humans have been wondering about not only how we came to be, but also why. The Greek philosophers focused their attention upon the origin and nature of the physical world. Later philosophers concerned themselves with inquiries about the human intellect, knowledge, truth, and a methodical consideration of human existence and experience. In order to find the answers to these questions, philosophy and religion have often ventured into each other’s realm, at times to disprove the other’s theory, and on occasion to substantiate it. Humankind has always had the curiosity to speculate and study its origins, the possibility of a higher being to which it owes its existence, the nature and the reason for good and evil, and the possible consequences for the choices made in this life.
